On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a large-scale offensive against Ukraine. Since then, the figures have been staggering: 300,000 deaths, 8 million Ukrainians seeking refuge across Europe, and 5 million internally displaced persons within the country. From the outset of this invasion, BSF has mobilized to protect, support, and guide Ukrainian residents, displaced individuals, and refugees both within the country and across Europe.

In Moldavia, BSF has deployed two Ideas Box. Run by local partners, they provide refugee families with a moment of escape amidst their hardships and contribute to their well-being. These libraries offer a safe space where families can find the energy to continue hoping for a better future.
